Paul-n-Lee: This blog chronicles our home in Holmes NY. We met in January 2006, maintaining seperate homes for three years. After adopting our dog, Pitoune, in Nov 2008 we discussed getting a place together and we began looking in January 2009. This house was the first one we looked at on January 4, 2009. We looked at many others but kept coming back to this one. We ran into several problems with the purchase but still kept comparing everything we looked at to this house. It was very well built but badly neglected. We finally decided this is what we wanted and bought the house regardless. Through all the trials and hidden costs, we persevered and the work continues. There was so much that was not disclosed both good and bad. After six months, there was not much in this house or the property on which it sits that we had not explored. The construction, electrical wiring, plumbing (from the well to the septic tank and everything in between) and even the landscaping has all been touched in one way or another.
